While working as CEO of HOME LOANS, A Div. of The Greater Pacific Northwest LLC, Barbara taught the following classes for The American College of Real Estate and Appraisal:
- Finance
- Contracts
- Law
- Property Manageent
- Agency
- Real Estate Practices
- Brokerage
She also developed and taught the following seminars:
- 1031 exchanges
- Mortgage Fraud
- A "Cram" class that prepared students for National and State exams in Oregon and Washington.
When she wasn't teaching at the college she often worked as a substitute teacher for Dan Lumley at Portland Community College.
Barbara was named “Broker of the Year” by the Oregon Assoc. of Mortgage Brokers and her business life included the following:
- Director and Chair of the Clackamas County Economic Development Commission
- Chair and Member of Redland, Viola, Fischer’s Mill Community Planning Organization
- Member of the Education/Training subcommittee for the Oregon Association of Mortgage Brokers (OAMB), now
known as the Oregon Assoc. of Mortgage Professionals
- Director of the OAMB
- Member, Sunnyside Neo-Traditional Village Green Steering Committee
- Member of the Clackamas County Partnership Development Committee, an education subcommittee of the
Children and Youth Coordinating Council
- Director and Chair, Rose City of Oregon Federal Credit Union
After twenty years in business she followed her passion and returned to school where she was awarded an
MFA in Creative Writing.
